We finished our first week of Spanish for the year! Here is what we have accomplished.
We practiced action words that describe what we do in school. The students will bring home fortune tellers (cootie catchers) that we made to practice the words. They're more fun than flashcards but work just as well : ) We also began centers. The students completed one center on Friday and will complete the last three next week. Three of the centers practice our vocabulary while one focuses on culture. The culture center this month teaches the students about some famous Hispanic Americans.

Kindergarten is starting off a little differently. We have been practicing our Hola Song and school supplies. For one activity, each student had a small mochila, or backpack, and in Spanish I asked them to put objects in the mochila. The did a great job! The kindergarteners are learning very fast. I'm so excited to see how much we can learn this year!
We'll be having more fun next week! I will keep you posted. Have a great weekend
